Meera Savjani, CFO of the Fund at Arrow Global, talks to Kevin Hogan of the Aztec Group in Alternative Credit Investor about her career journey, the evolution of private credit, and the growing role of technology in fund management and data operations.

Meera reflects on her diverse career path, spanning roles at PwC, BP, Apollo Global Management, and Oaktree Capital Management, which provided her with extensive experience in credit, hybrid transactions, real estate, and fund operations. At Arrow Global, she oversees fund management offerings, focusing on transparency, agility, and leveraging data-driven insights.

She discusses significant shifts in the private credit industry, noting its evolution from granular investments like non-performing loan portfolios to more hybrid and bespoke capital solutions. As investor demands for transparency and uniformity in reporting grow, Meera emphasises the importance of robust in-house systems and integration of technology, such as Arrow’s custom-built Fund Management System and tools like Kyriba, to manage liquidity, reconcile data, and streamline operations.

Meera also highlights the role of sublines in enhancing fund operations and smoothing cash flow profiles, while explaining Arrow’s off-market origination model that avoids competition with large private credit players. She emphasises the critical need for partnerships with administrators that can complement Arrow’s data-focused approach with advanced technology.

Finally, Meera envisions the future of private credit as increasingly innovative, with growing opportunities for bespoke capital solutions and evolving roles for technology and AI in underwriting, reconciliation, and operational efficiency.
