Arrow Global Joins UK Private Credit

Arrow Global today announces that it has joined UK Private Capital, the industry association representing the UK private capital sector.

The membership reflects Arrow’s commitment to supporting the continued development of the European private credit market and to engaging actively with industry peers on best practice, governance, and responsible investment. As private capital continues to scale and mature, Arrow believes that participation in leading industry bodies plays an important role in promoting high standards of transparency, risk management, and long-term alignment with investors.

UK Private Capital, formerly the BVCA, represents more than 600 firms across the private capital ecosystem, including fund managers, investors, and professional advisers.

Private capital comprises private equity and venture capital, which make long-term investments to grow British businesses and strengthen the economy. Private credit and venture debt provide active, engaged debt finance to businesses.

The industry backs 13,000 UK businesses, nine in ten of which are small or medium-sized enterprises. Businesses supported by private capital employ 2.5 million people across the UK and contribute 7 per cent of GDP. In 2024, £29.4 billion was invested into UK businesses across a broad range of sectors, from consumer products to emerging technology. Notably, 58 per cent of businesses backed in 2024 were located outside London, reflecting the sector’s nationwide impact. Investments are typically long-term, with an average holding period of six years, compared with less than one year in public markets.

UK-based private capital specialists have raised £190 billion in funds (“dry powder”), expected to be deployed over the next three to five years.
