Richard Roberts, Head of Origination and M&A at Arrow Global, will bring his 25 years of experience to the panel at the SmithNovak NPL Europe Conference in London on 6-7 March 2024. Richard, alongside other industry practitioners, will delve into the future of non-performing loans (NPLs) and uncover investment opportunities.
As a member of the Buy-side panel, Richard, along with other experts, will explore several critical areas shaping the investment landscape in 2024. They will highlight the emerging opportunities awaiting buyers in the NPL market, emphasising what the new year holds for investors. The discussion will also address the challenges in completing transactions, focusing on the reasons behind the increase in failed deals over the past year and the specific factors that led to a downturn in transactions in 2023. Richard will analyse the market’s supply and demand for portfolios to identify where, even in a deflated market, opportunities for investors can be found, considering geography and asset class.
The panel will examine the significant increases in CRE loan defaults, business insolvencies, and household debt, exploring what opportunities these trends may create for investors and whether a new wave of transactions is on the horizon. Additionally, insights will be provided on how the primary and secondary NPL/RPL/UTP markets in Greece, Italy, and Spain are expected to evolve in 2024.
