Amanda Young

Amanda has nearly 30 years’ experience in financial services, specialising in sustainable investment, organisational strategy and responsible business. She previously served as Chief Sustainability Officer at Aberdeen plc, where she led the Investment Sustainability division and delivered the firm’s sustainable investment strategy. Earlier in her career, Amanda held senior roles at Newton Investment Management, CCLA Investment Management and Rabobank International.

She sits on the Board of Crown Estate Scotland.  Previously, she was Senior Advisor to the Global Ethical Finance Institute and to Big Issue Invest. She has also held board and advisory positions with SIS Ventures, the UK Sustainable Investment and Finance Association, the Investment Association and FTSE Russell.

Her contribution to sustainable finance has been widely recognised. She was named among the Financial News Top 100 Most Influential Women in European Finance for six consecutive years and received the Sustainable & ESG Investment Woman of the Year award in 2021.

A graduate of Lancaster University, Amanda holds a BSc in Psychology and has completed the University of Edinburgh Business School’s Executive Women’s Leadership Programme.
