Riding the wave
In the December issue of Alternative Credit Investor, Toni McDermott, CIO of Credit and Lending at Arrow Global, provides her insights to the article ‘Riding the Wave’, which examines the rapid expansion and increasing diversification of the asset-backed finance (ABF) sector.
The piece highlights how ABF has become a key alternative to traditional bank lending, driven by growing demand for non-bank finance and the need for investors to achieve higher yields. Toni emphasises the critical role of operational expertise, deep industry knowledge, and strong local relationships in successfully navigating this specialised and complex market, particularly in fragmented regions like Europe.
The article also explores the evolving dynamics of ABF, from innovative financing strategies to the growing participation of alternative asset managers and institutional investors.
