Viriato Receives FSC® and PEFC® Certification, Demonstrating Arrow’s Commitment to Sustainable Practices
Viriato, a Portuguese hospitality outfitter, and one of Arrow’s portfolio companies, has received certification from the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®) and the Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC®).
This achievement is a testament to Viriato’s strong commitment to sustainable business practices, emphasising responsible forest management and alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 12, connected to responsible consumption and production.
Arrow’s dedication to sustainability is deeply embedded across its various platforms and fund investments. Collaborative efforts include partnering with the Vilamoura municipality to utilise ‘grey water’ for golf course irrigation, revitalising contaminated brownfield land for residential housing, and fostering youth employability skills via Junior Achievement Europe (JAE). FSC and PEFC, as globally recognised entities, champion the cause of sustainable forest management. Through this certification, Viriato solidifies its role as an environmentally responsible entity, fully committed to sustainable practices.
